A four-year, hands-on career path for motivated high school graduates and CTC/vo-tech students who want to enter the skilled trades without taking on the cost of a traditional four-year college degree.
At Deluxe Industrial, apprentices learn directly from experienced tradespeople while working on real industrial projects. Each year builds upon the last, progressing from workplace safety and foundational skills to advanced welding, millwright work, and specialized certifications.

YEAR 1 — BUILD THE FOUNDATION
Goal: Learn to Work Safely and Understand the Trade
The first year is about developing the habits and foundational knowledge needed to become a successful tradesperson.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Industrial Pipe Welder/Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, and maintaining industrial piping systems. This role requires expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints, welding and fitting various types of pipes, and ensuring the structural integrity and safety of the piping systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Pipe Installation & Fabrication: Accurately measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angles using hand and power tools. Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications. Fit and weld metal components to fabricate piping systems using MIG, TIG, and other welding techniques.
• Welding: Perform welding operations on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys. Use welding equipment to join pipes according to blueprints, schematics, and safety standards. Inspect and test welded joints and components for structural integrity.
• Blueprint Reading & Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and piping diagrams to determine the correct sequence of operations. Ensure accurate installation of piping systems by adhering to design plans.
• Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair existing piping systems, including replacing damaged sections and updating system components. Perform routine maintenance to ensure the longevity and efficiency of piping systems.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure that all welding and fitting work complies with industry standards and regulations. Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or GED required. Completion of an apprenticeship program or technical certification in welding, pipefitting, or a related field preferred.
• Experience:
o Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial pipe welding and fitting. Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding. Experience with a variety of piping materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys.
• Skills: Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and piping diagrams. Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Strong understanding of welding and piping safety practices and protocols. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment. Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights. Willingness to work in various environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, dust, noise).

This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in industrial mechanical work. The Millwright Helper assists skilled tradespeople with tools, materials, equipment setup, and job site preparation while learning industry best practices in safety, rigging, alignment, and mechanical assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
• Worksite Preparation: Assist in preparing job sites by moving materials, setting up tools, staging equipment, and maintaining clean and safe work areas.
• Installation Support: Support millwrights during installation and removal of industrial machinery, piping systems, conveyors, and mechanical components.
• Rigging Assistance: Assist with basic rigging tasks, positioning equipment, and handling components under supervision.
